About Wizz Air and Reasons for flight Delay or Cancellation

Wizz Air is a Hungarian low-cost airline founded in 2003 with its head office in Budapest. Within just a few years of coming into existence, the airline is one of the most preferred in Europe and transports passengers to around 350 different destinations in 35 different countries. The airline typically uses secondary airports serving many cities across Europe, Israel and the United Arab Emirates. In the event of a flight cancellation, you are entitled to an alternative transport as well as some monetary compensation but only if notice of an imminent cancellation isn’t given at least 14 days before scheduled departure date. In a situation where more than 14 days notice is given, the passenger is only entitled to a flight replacement without monetary compensation. Compensation is also paid if a flight has been delayed for at least 3 hours and amount payable as compensation is solely dependent the flight distance and not on the ticket price. It should however be noted that compensation cannot be paid if reasons for a flight delay or cancellation is as a result exceptional circumstances such as Bird strikes or storms.
